How to upload and use your own videos and images in Pictory

Do you want to personalize your videos by adding your own images and clips? With Pictory, you can easily upload and apply your visuals into your projects. Follow this guide to get started.

Uploading your videos and images

If you’re creating a video from scratch, you’ll eventually reach the Storyboard, the page shown in the screenshot below.

  1. On the Storyboard, go to Visuals on the left-hand panel.

  2. In the Visuals menu, go to the Uploads tab.

  3. Click the Upload button to select files from your computer or simply drag and drop them into the upload area.

  4. The supported file formats and sizes are as below

    1. Images: JPG, JPEG, PNG, SVG, WEBP (up to 100 MB per file)

    2. Videos: MP4, MOV, WEBM (up to 500 MB per file)

  5. Your selected files will be uploaded in the order you chose them. The upload time may vary depending on the file size, larger files might take longer.

Applying your uploaded visuals

Once the upload is complete, you can use your visuals in your video:

  1. To apply an uploaded visual to a scene, click on it.

  2. To add it as a layer, click the ”+ Add as a layer” button in the top-right corner of the visual card.

All your uploaded visuals remain accessible in the Uploads tab, where you to add and delete files anytime.
