While Pictory doesn’t require a high-end hardware, a compatible GPU (graphics card) is essential for smooth performance during device rendering. If your device has both integrated and dedicated graphics cards, we recommend using the dedicated GPU for rendering.
Below, we will share a step by step guide on how to select a dedicated high performance NVIDIA GPU on your WIndow's device.
Go to the search button on your task bar and type "NVIDIA Control Panel"
From the search results, right click on "NVIDIA Control Panel" and choose “Run as administrator.”
Next, select “Manage 3D settings.”
Click on the tab “Program settings”
Select “Google Chrome” under the program to customize and click "Add".
Select “High-performance NVIDIA Processor” under the Preferred graphics processor drop-down menu.
When you're done, click on the Apply button
Ideally, the steps above should set your GPU as per your preference. However, this might fail and you could run into this error:
If this happens, here's a quick workaround:
Go to Windows system settings and navigate to “System --> Display --> Graphics”
Next to the 'Add an app", click on "Add desktop app"
Select the Path for the Chrome exe installed on your system.
After adding the app, under the "GPU preference", select the “High performance NVIDIA”
And that's how you can set a high performance GPU for your device to improve the speed.
