On mobile, Pictory uses a quick chat-based flow with its assistant, Pickford, to get you to a video preview fast. You describe your video, answer a few questions, review the script, and Pictory builds a preview. To fully edit and download the final video, you then switch to the desktop website.

Mobile takes you from idea to a preview. Full editing and final download happen on desktop.
The preview may show placeholder elements or stock watermarks that won't appear in your final download.
Step 1: Start a chat with Pickford
Open Pictory on your mobile browser. On the home screen, tap Create video with Pickford. Your recent project chats and your Pictory capabilities also appear on this screen.
Step 2: Describe your video
The chat opens with "Welcome to Pictory! What kind of video would you like to make today?" Type your topic or idea in the Describe what you want box and send it.
Step 3: Answer Pickford's questions
Pickford asks a short series of questions. Tap an option for each:
How long would you like the video to be? 30s, 1 min, or 2 min.
What aspect ratio would you like? Horizontal (16:9), Vertical (9:16), or Square (1:1).
Would you like a voiceover? Male voice, Female voice, or No voiceover.
What theme would you like? Modern (B&W), Colorful and bold, or Skip.
Pickford then confirms your choices back to you and offers to add specific points or proceed with a general overview.
Step 4: Review the script
Pickford generates a script and asks you to review it. You can read the full script, edit it, and see the video details (video name, duration, aspect ratio). Confirm it looks good or request changes in the chat.
Step 5: View your preview
Pictory builds a preview and shows "Your preview is ready!" A note reminds you that the quick preview may include placeholder elements or stock watermarks that won't be in the final download.
Step 6: Share, or continue editing on desktop
Below the preview you can:
Share your draft video: tap Copy preview link to share your creation with others.
Continue editing on desktop: to enhance the video and use the full toolset, visit app.pictory.ai on a desktop and open the same project. The desktop editor gives you the full storyboard, visuals, audio, branding, and the final download.
Tips
Use mobile to start fast. It's the quickest way to go from an idea to a preview when you're away from your desktop.
Finish on desktop. Detailed editing and the final, watermark-free download are done on app.pictory.ai.
Share before exporting. Copy preview link lets you get quick feedback on the draft before you refine it.
