Depending on where you want to post your video, you might have specific requirements for the format of your video. Pictory allows the capability to choose a video resolution as well as change the aspect ratio of your video. Here's how you can do this:

How to change the video format

There are 2 ways you can go about changing the format of your video.

Step 1

  1. The first way is to go to the aspect ratio button on top of your scene view on the right side of your screen.

  2. Click on the button highlighted below to open the aspect ratio options from where you can select another format.

Please note that the button will not always say 'Landscape' as in the screenshot. The button will display the current format of your video. Meaning if your current project is in portrait mode, the button in this case, will say 'Portrait'.

Once selected, the new format will be immediately applied to your video.

Step 2:

  1. For the second method, go to the 'Format' tab on the left-hand bar.

  2. Here you will find the three different aspect ratio currently available in Pictory.

3. Select your preferred aspect ratio/format from the given options and click on it to apply it to your video.

How to change the video resolution

  1. To change the resolution of your video. on the storyboard, go to the 'Format' tab on the left hand bar.

  2. At the top, you can choose either 720p or 1080p video resolution, whichever is better suited for you. It is set to 1080p b default ).

*Please note that changing aspect ratios can drastically change your video's look, especially regarding how the visuals appear. To avoid any issues, you may consider deciding and finalizing your aspect ratio before adjusting any other options.
