Pictory is optimized for the Chrome browser, so please ensure you’re using Chrome for the best experience.

How to allow camera and microphone permissions

  1. To get started, click the 'Record' button on the homepage. This will take you to the recording screen in Pictory.

2. In this screen, click on the site information icon next to the URL in the address bar.

  • This icon can take different forms, it could appear as shown in the screenshot or a lock icon too.

3. Clicking this icon will open the Site Information panel, and set both the Camera and Microphone to “Allow”.

4. When permissions are set, you will be prompted to reload the page. Reload to save the settings.

5. For a broader list of settings, you can also click on “Site settings”.

How to record computer audio while recording the screen

Here’s what to do if you need to record your screen along with its audio. By default, browsers don’t have permission to capture system audio from the screen being recorded. Since Pictory is a browser-based recorder, you’ll need to manually enable this feature.

Windows:

  1. Windows allows you to share system audio when sharing your Entire Screen or a Specific Tab.

  2. Ensure this option is enabled in the sharing window before you start recording.

MacOS:

  1. MacOS only permits sharing system audio when recording a Specific Tab. Recording system audio with a full window is not supported.

  2. In Chrome, you will find the system audio setting in the same location as described above.

Once these permissions are set up, you are ready to start recording videos on Pictory. Happy recording!
